Companies whoare dealing with dangerous combustible substances strictly use flame resistant clothing. This is so because use of flame resistant clothing will prevent occurrence of any sort of accident or will at least minimize the sever outcome of accidents. Research reports revel that most of the workplace related accidents occur because of human error. This error exists because of the inappropriate and non-cooperative behavior of the employees in the work place.
Behavioral Safety Training is a program that specifically focuses on the behavioral aspect of employees while they are performing their job. Along with this it also tries to find out ways to change the wrong behavior of employees so as to avoid work-related accidents or injuries. Companies spend massive amount to establish various safety tools such as safety equipment, safety norms, safety measures and safety policies for minimizing the number of accidents occurring at the workplace. Establishing so many safety measures or tools is of no use unless and until employees follow them seriously. Unsafe action or behavior of the employees can be changed with the proper behavioral safety training.
In behavioral safety training program, supervisor is provided with a list as per which he/she verify and observe employee behavior at workplace. In case, employee perform any insecure action then supervisor are supposed to stop them and explain them the right way of doing the same. This is continued until employees become habitual to it.
When the supervisor instructs employees or insists them for impose any safety norm, policy, or measure, then employees should not take it in a negative way and built any hard feelings for the concerned authority. Instead, they must try to understand the importance of it and should co-operate with them in all the way they can. After all, it is being done for their safety only.
